About The Kindness Hub
The Kindness Hub is the social and humanitarian arm of Chabad of Ellicott City, founded to organize and expand Chabad’s community service and volunteer initiatives under one coordinated framework. Its purpose is to make compassion practical, structured, and far-reaching, ensuring that every act of kindness, large or small, has real impact across Howard County.
Rooted in the timeless Jewish values of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) and Gemilut Chasadim (acts of loving-kindness), The Kindness Hub was created to connect individuals, families, and organizations through meaningful opportunities to give and serve. It provides the structure and support needed to help anyone in the community take part in improving lives through action.
We believe that even the smallest act of kindness can spark change in ourselves, our neighborhoods, and our entire community. Whether it is delivering a meal, visiting a senior, mentoring a teen, or helping a family in need, every gesture adds warmth, dignity, and connection to the world around us.
The Kindness Hub serves as a mission control center for compassion, coordinating programs such as Chabad on Call, Smile on Seniors, Friendship Circle, and other inclusion and wellness initiatives. Through these efforts, we bring care and comfort to seniors, hospital patients, families, and individuals of all abilities, while empowering volunteers to grow in empathy and leadership.
Each program is designed to be accessible, transparent, and impactful. By blending professional organization with genuine human care, The Kindness Hub ensures that kindness is not random or occasional, but continuous and community-driven.
Our mission is to build a culture of compassion that becomes a natural part of daily life in Howard County. When people unite around kindness, they create stronger families, closer neighborhoods, and a more caring world for all.
The Kindness Hub, it starts with one small act.
